Cardinal Commitment Grant (CCG)
At the University of Louisville, many Pell-eligible students still face tuition gaps despite federal, state, and institutional aid. For every $1,000 in unmet need, retention drops by 1%, according to the Kentucky Council of Postsecondary Education. The Cardinal Commitment Grant Program (CCG), launched in 2023-2024, fills these gaps by covering all remaining tuition for Pell-eligible students and now assists those with unmet needs over $6,000.
Thanks to CCG's first year, UofL’s fall-to-fall retention hit a record 81.5%, with significant gains among first-generation students. This innovative program has also helped bring in UofL’s largest-ever incoming first-year class, with 3,125 students enrolling this fall. Your gift today can help us continue this progress, ensuring that financial hardship never stands in the way of a student's academic journey.
