At the Envirome Institute we investigate how environmental conditions foster, support or impede health, and we use this knowledge to develop new approaches to promote wellness and reduce health inequities. Our signature projects – the Green Heart Louisville Project, the Superfund Program, and the Trager Microforest Project, among others – address community health needs while creating actionable knowledge to drive meaningful change. We are pursuing A New Vision of Health which is based on the idea that a healthy environment and healthy interactions with the environment are essential for human health and wellbeing.
